Greetings Westview Wrestling Families!
I for one am very proud of each of our wrestlers that competed this last weekend at the Regional Tournament. Whether they placed or not, our wrestlers competed hard and with pride! While the overall team results were not what we hoped, 7th place overall, we are still encouraged by the growth of many of our young wrestlers and look to have a much stronger finish next year!
Regional Results – Congratulations to all of our Regional Tournament placers:
8th Place: Justin Parsons earned an 8th place in the 126 lb weight class.
7th Place: David Yancey was able to earn the 7th place in the 182 lb weight class.
5th Place: Way to go to David Escobar earning a 5th place in the 132 lb class, just shy of qualifying for state.
We have Three State Qualifiers:
2nd Place: Congratulations to Noah Spencer on his 2nd place finish earning him a birth into the State 6A tournament in the 285 lb weight class!
1st Place: Eli Hirning, 220 lbs, and Joel Timmons, 120 lbs, both earned a Regional Championship and a seed in the State 6A Tournament this coming weekend. Additionally, this is Joel’s 4th straight Regional Championship, a first time accomplishment for any Westview wrestler!
