How to register to Coach with Westview Youth Wrestling
Step 1 : Complete USA Wrestling Leader Registration
You will be asked to upload your USA Wrestling Leader card on the coach registration form.
The US Congress has passed, and the President has signed, a law that affects the responsibility of coaches, club officials, and other volunteers to report when they see or suspect physical or sexual abuse of a minor. USA Wrestling and our member and affiliate clubs such as Westview Youth Wrestling are included because all adults registered to USA Wrestling are authorized to interact with minor athletes at events that we sanction. The new statute defines an event to include, “…travel, lodging, practice, competition, and health or medical treatment….” All of our member and affiliate clubs are involved with practices and competitions.
* Please note, the USA Wrestling Leader Application includes a background check and completion of SafeSport Training.
Step 2 : Complete Concussion Training
You will be asked to upload your concussion certificate on the coach registration form.
Oregon law requires coaches to be trained in recognizing signs of concussion and to know how to respond appropriately to concussions when they occur. Westview Wrestling requires ALL coaches to complete concussion training annually. If you have recently completed a concussion training for another sport or organization, in most cases we can accept proof of this in lieu of completing another session.
* Please note, if you have completed the concussion training since September 1, 2021, even if it was for another sport, you may attach that certificate in your registration. *
You can access the training with the following link:
Step 3: Complete this registration for Westview Wrestling
There will be a spot to upload both USA Wrestling Leader and concussion certifications on the registration form.
