Greetings Westview Wrestling Families –
It was a great tourney at Sumner for our team, they took 2nd place overall! An excellent start to our season with many wrestlers showing some great growth with off season work! I am very proud of the turnout of families for the long road trip. Our families, along with all of the JV and Freshman teams, made for a loud and excited crowd! I know the wrestlers had a great time on the trip.
Volunteers Needed for Rose City Championship Tourney! – Remember, we do not do any other fundraising other than hosting the Rose City Wrestling tournament. We expect all families to get involved in helping at either the concessions stand or other opportunities. Friday, December 11th, and Saturday, December 12th, Westview is hosting the Rose City Championship tournament. Distribution List – I have updated the distribution list for our Wildcat Wrestling families. If you need to have an address added, adjusted or deleted please let me know. We are probably missing a number of families on our distribution list. If you know of anyone that needs to be added, be sure to have them email me to get added. If anyone needs to get a message out to the team, please send to me and I will include it in the weekly update.

Freshman/Novice Tournament Tuesday 12/8 – The first freshman/novice tournament is at Banks High School next Tuesday, 12/8, starting at 4:30 pm. Wrestlers will stay after school and then bus to Banks. Wrestlers should either bring food/drink for the evening to school with them or their family can bring their wrestler food at the event. These events usually last anywhere from 2-3 hours then will bus back to Westview. The full freshman/novice tournament schedule is available by clicking here.
Dual Meet Wednesday, 12/9 at Beaverton 6:00pm and 7:00pm – Come on out to our first dual meet at Beaverton High. JV wrestlers at 6:00 pm and Varsity at 7:00 pm. The dual meets are one of the most exciting events for fans. For varsity competition the main lights go out and the spotlights shine on the match. The individual matches get real exciting. Watching the team scores build as the match moves along builds energy in the gym!
Rose City Championship Tournament this Friday and Saturday 12/11 & 12 – December 11th and 12th, at Westview High School. This tournament is an individual bracketed tournament for each weight class. With overall team scores kept as well. This tournament will include JV and Varsity Wrestlers competing this weekend as each school can enter two wrestlers per weight class. All other wrestlers are expected to be at the tourney. Wrestling will start at 9:00 am on Friday and 9:00 am on Saturday. The tourney continues to grow, now up to twenty-seven teams this year with 15 Oregon teams 8 from Washington, 1 from California, 1 from Idaho and 2 from Colorado.
