Here are some updates and info for spring wrestling, summer camp and online fundraising we need everyone’s help with! Please take advantage of these off season wrestling opportunities, these really make a difference in the long term development of the wrestler!
Summer “Beaver Elite” Wrestling Camp – Here is the camp information. The dates are July 27-30. We are not doing the Camp of Champs this year as they do not have a close location for us. This year it will be the OSU camp at Great Wolf Lodge. According to Kevin Roberts, the assistant coach, the camp will be focused on a lot of technique for the kids which will offer a good change of pace for the kids as opposed to all dual meets like at Camp of Champs. Beaver Elite Wrestling Camp – Washington – July 27-30, 2014
This wrestling camp will focus on the complete wrestler; proper drilling, live wrestling, and match strategy and tactics. Along with great wrestling and instruction, you will be able to enjoy the great amenities that the Wolf Lodge provides. In the camp cost access to the water park each day is included. We will conclude our camp with a takedown tournament, so that you can apply the skills that you will develop during our camp, to your live wrestling. This camp is open to wrestlers ages 6 to 18.
Things to bring: Wrestling Shoes, Running Shoes, Water Bottle, multiple sets of work out gear, good attitude
Things not to bring: Blankets and pillows, tobacco products, fire arms, pocket knives, poor attitude
MEALS: Meals are not provided by the Oregon State Wrestling Camps. There are restaurants in the lodge to eat as well as fridges and microwaves in all rooms.
Campers wishing to attend this camp on a commuter basis can do so, however the campers will not be allowed to use any of the amenities in the resort between sessions. Commuters will have to be dropped off and picked up after each session. This is a policy of The Great Wolf Lodge!

Missing Singlets – Be on the lookout for missing singlets and headgear that the kids need to turn in to either Coach Delaney or a team captain. So make those wrestlers do a little spring cleaning in their rooms, athletic bags, laundry bins and other nooks and crannies that gear may show up in (I know … eww).
Off Season Fundraising – We opened an online fundraiser. We need to have wrestlers and families start pushing it out on twitter and facebook and all that other social media stuff. To kick off this fundraiser we need everyone involved, here is how:

Spring Wrestling – Practice times for spring wrestling are as follows:
Tuesday and Thursday from 2:50-4:15 (Weight Training and Technique)
Monday and Wednesday 6:00-8:00 (extra workouts with live wrestling)
Reno World of Wrestling Tournament April 10-13 – This is a great off-season opportunity for our Westview Wrestling Team to see some quality competition from across the United States. Last season 16 wrestlers made this trip and we had some very good performances by our kids. The cost of the trip will be $200 per wrestler, this includes hotel, tournament registration fee, rental vehicles for the trip. Coach Delaney, Coach Moreno and Coach Larson will be taking the wrestlers on this trip.
*All students must be OSAA eligible to take this trip*
Parents need to let Coach Delaney know if their wrestler will be attending ASAP that will help get rooms/vehicles organized. Money has to be turned in by March 24th in order for Coach to meet the deadline of registering the wrestlers.
Depart WHS @ 8:00 am on Thursday April 10, 2014 and arrive back at WHS @ approximately 8:00 pm on Sunday April 13, 2014
