Wildcat Update #4

Happy New Year Westview Wrestling Families –

Recent Results – Congratulations to the team and coaches on their solid work at the Pacific Coast Championships! 13th out of 35 in an extremely tough tourney!  Placers included Joey Coste took 3rd place at 132 lbs and taking the championship was Nick Capetillo at 120 lbs.  Way to go guys!!

Results for the Rose City Championships as a team we place 18th out of 25.  Placers included Nic Capetillo 2nd place at 120 lbs and Joey Coste at 132 lbs.

Competitions this week: 
Freshman/Novice Tournament –  Westview hosted a frosh/novice tournament today.  The next freshman/novice tournament will be next Wednesday 1/11 at Century High School.     Wrestlers will stay after school and take the bus to the tourney.  Wrestlers should either bring food/drink for the evening to school with them or their family can bring their wrestler food at the event. These events usually last anywhere from 2-3 hours then will bus back to Westview.

No Dual Meet This Week

Panther Classic Tournament this Saturday 1/8 – January 8th,  at Snohomish High School, in Snohomish WA, (20 miles north of Seattle).  This tournament is an individual  (16 man) bracketed tournament for each weight class.  With overall team scores kept as well.  This tournament will only include Varsity wrestlers, they will be leaving for Snohomish from school on Friday at 10:00 am and return very late Saturday night.  The team will be staying at the Marriott in Bellevue.  Wrestling is scheduled to start at 10:00 am on Saturday.

5 Counties Tournament on January  13 & 14 – Some early info for this tournament since it includes out of state traveling.  This is a huge and extremely tough individual bracket tournament.  Coach Delaney and his staff have specific criteria for which wrestlers will go, he will communicate that directly to the wrestlers.  The wrestlers going will be flying down on Thursday, 1/12, staying in a hotel and returning on Sunday, 1/15. Players going have received trip information and costs.  The team will be staying at Springhill Suites by Marriott in  Irvine CA.
